Marc Jacobs follows up on the success of the wildly popular Daisy fragrance with the new Lola fragrance. Lola is Daisy’s older sister, and what a lovely older sister she is. The warm floral scent is housed in a gorgeous bottle, featuring purple glass, gold rope detail on the neck, and a a fantastically creative stylized rose ornament in shades of red and purple on top.

The fragrance features playful top notes of pink peppercorn, pear, and ruby red grapefruit, and middle notes of feminine rose, fuchsia peony, and geranium, with a dry down of warm tonka bean, vanilla, and sensual musk.

I’m a sucker for cute, so I can’t help but love Gwen Stefani’s line of Harajuku Lovers fragrances. The scents are obviously geared toward a younger market and features fragrance notes such as “lollipop accord”, but the bottles are a must for cute addicts of all ages. You can collect all five, which include Love, Li’l Angel (I’m sure that the Li’l is so Thierry Mugler doesn’t come a knockin’ with his lawyers), Music, Baby, and G, which looks like a little Gwen Stefani.

Love and Luck Fragrances from Ed Hardy

The Love and Luck men’s and women’s fragrances from Ed Hardy by Christian Audigier sport some kickin’ packaging. The scents and the packaging are highly influenced by Japanese pop culture and certainly appeal to the hip youth market in Japan, but these influences have seeped into the US over the past couple of years, as well, with exposure from musical artists like Gwen Stefani. Harajuku girls, anyone?

The Love & Luck men’s fragrance features bottle graphics influenced by Asian tattoo art and the Tokyo night life, while the Love & Luck women’s fragrance features geisha-inspired art. The stylish bottles and bottle art, coupled with rave reviews by both men and women, put these scents on my “collectible” list.

Navy Perfume by Dana

Back in the days of old — you know, before the Bath and Body Works revolution — Navy by Dana was my favorite fragrance. While many of my other friends were dabbing on their Exclamation! and Love’s Baby Soft (I still have very fond memories of both of these scents, as well), I was rockin’ the Navy. Seeing the signature navy and white packaging and bottle still takes me back, and I’m happy to see that Navy is still being manufactured.

Navy Perfume by Dana was launched in 1990 and is classified as an oriental floral fragrance. The feminine scent features notes of citrus and florals, as well as spicy notes of cinnamon and coriander. The combination of the navy color scheme, at a time when everything was still flourescent pink (I do love this color!), with the floriental scent made me feel so sophisticated and grown up during my junior high years, which were otherwise filled with social awkwardness and bad perms.

You may or may not be a fan of her music, and you’ve almost certainly heard about her personal struggles over the past couple of years. But no matter what your opinion of her, you can see that Britney Spears has amassed a stable of bestselling perfumes since she introduced her first fragrance, Curious, in 2004.

In 2005, Curious by Britney Spears was named Best Women’s Fragrance by the Fragrance Foundation, and Spears has since released several additional perfumes under her name. The fragrances certainly have a youth appeal, with floral and fruit notes, as well as the occasional surprising note like cupcake. But most of Spears’ fragrances feature sensual musk and other earthy notes, which make the scents appealing to women, as well as younger girls.

Gucci Envy Me Perfume

I love the trend in high end brands toward exploration of modern pattern and design. Half of the reason that I tend to covet particular products is for the packaging! Sometimes, for me, a collectible item is simply a pretty, pretty bottle in a pretty, pretty box. So, I have to admit that I was initially attracted to the Gucci Envy Me line for the cool packaging and pattern work.

The line now features both Envy Me and its “sequel”, Envy Me 2, both light, feminine perfumes. The original Envy Me plays to those who love light fruity florals, while Envy Me 2 is an earthier floral, with notes of Sandalwood and Patchouli.

Avon Bond Girl 007 Fragrance

Bond Girl 007, a fragrance created by Avon and inspired by the incomparable James Bond, is noteworthy for both its sophisticated and sensual scent and for the curvaceous, feminine (not to mention, collectible) bottle in which it is contained.

The fragrance features top notes of exotic orchid and white peach, with fresh orange blossoms and cashmere woods. Bottom notes of sandalwood, cedarwood, and vetiver, not to mention a touch of patchouli, round out this sexy, woody scent.

Avon’s Bond Girl 007 line also includes body lotion and shower gel.

So, who’s your favorite Bond? Sean Connery? Roger Moore? I’m still not sold on Daniel Craig.
