Yankee Candle introduced the World Fragrance Collection in early 2007. The collection marked a step in a new direction for Yankee, including more complex and exotic scents featuring pure essential oils and extracts sourced directly from each candle’s namesake region.

Yankee retired this collection in 2008, but I do hope that they put out more of these evocative types of scents in the future.

When MAC releases a new collection, there’s always buzz, but MAC’s Chill collection (launched December 2008) is getting heavy duty coverage and reviews. The collection was originally supposed to launch in January 2009, but I guess that even the people over at MAC were too excited to keep it under wraps.

The colors in the collection are just what one would expect for wintertime — frosty whites, light pinks, taupes, and lavenders. The collection also features a liquid eye liner pen (very sleek looking) called Penultimate Eye Liner, which may prove to be the real standout.

You can purchase Chill now at MAC, and the limited edition colors and products are already showing up on eBay, where they will undoubtedly continue to be found by all of you MAC-inistas.
